I’ve been a bigg fan of his work since his singing group career with the commodores. Growing up, I happened to get used to listening to those contemporary, soft-rock music genre when my brothers and I were still at that pre-teen age. Whether it’s the typical sunday drive to church, or if we’re off to the mall shopping for new threads before school, the car stereo would almost always be set to KYXY 96.5 FM (a local radio station in san diego, ca), playing certain songs by artists such as, Phil Collins, Vanessa Williams, Kenny Loggins, and of course Lionel Richie. As emo as it sounds, his music always manages to fascinate me and reminisce all those good times during my childhood. Richie’s latest album, “Coming Home” shows that his work still appeals to young adults and teens.
